Varun Gandhi wrote a letter to the PM after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the withdrawal of agricultural laws. In the letter, he had said that I request that the demand for making law on MSP and other issues should also be decided immediately. Along with this, he had also demanded compensation of one crore rupees each to the kin of the farmers killed in the farmers’ movement.
Not only this, he also described the Lakhimpur Kheri incident as a blot on democracy. Let us tell you, there are allegations against the son of Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra of offering a car to the farmers protesting in Lakhimpur. According to the allegations, farmers were protesting in Lakhimpur, when the son of the Union Minister brought the car at high speed and drove it on the farmers, in which many farmers died.
Significantly, after the Parliament repealed the Agriculture Act, the farmers ended their agitation. The farmers, who had been camping on the Delhi border for almost a year, are now returning to their homes.
