Uttarakhand : New SOP issued, will be able to celebrate New Year with maximum 100 people in Dehradun

With the knock of Omicron in the capital Doon, the district administration has started taking strict action. Now only a maximum of 100 people will be able to gather in any event in the district. This also includes the celebration of the new year. The special thing is that only those people will get entry in the hotel, who have already booked. District Magistrate Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar issued its orders on Friday.
New variant Omicron declared as Variant of Concern (VOC)
District Magistrate Dr. Rajesh told that WHO has declared the new variant of Kovid-19 Omicron as a Variant of Concern (VOC). It has the ability to spread very quickly. The Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued guidelines regarding effective prevention of Omicron. He said that in view of the prevention of Omicron, SOP has been issued for the occasion of Christmas and New Year.
Accordingly, New Year’s program will be celebrated in a simple way. In which only a maximum of 100 people can participate. Hotel owners will have to sanitize the rooms and premises regularly. The personal responsibility of the hotel owner concerned will be fixed for violation of the guidelines.
He said that it would be mandatory for tourists coming from other states to bring negative RTPCR report or certificate of double dose vaccination 72 hours before arrival. All the programs organized for infection prevention can be done only till 10 o’clock in the night. Any kind of event related activities will be completely prohibited in the Micro Containment Zone. The residents and tourists of district Dehradun will compulsorily wear masks in public places and work places. They will also have to strictly follow social distancing. Failure to do so will result in action being taken under disaster management.
Minister in charge will visit the districts to take stock of the situation
Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami reviewed the arrangements related to the rescue of the COVID 19 Omicron variant after a cabinet meeting at the Secretariat late Friday evening. The Chief Minister has asked all the in-charge ministers to visit the districts and take stock of the situation in this regard.
The Chief Minister has also directed to convene a high-level meeting on December 31 after reviewing the districts in this regard. Along with this, the officials have been instructed to review the situation continuously in this regard. In this regard, Secretary Health Dr. Pankaj Kumar Pandey informed that a total of 27186 isolation beds are available in the state for the treatment of COVID 19.
A total of 13674 Oxygen Support Beds are available in the State, out of which 6572 Oxygen Support Beds have been reserved for the treatment of COVID 19 if required. A total of 2113 ICU beds are available in the state, out of which 1655 ICU beds have been reserved for treatment of COVID 19 as and when required. Apart from this, a total of 1451 ventilators are available in the state, out of which 1016 ventilators have been reserved for the treatment of COVID 19 if required.
A total of 532 ambulances, 22420 oxygen cylinders, 9828 oxygen concentrators, 71 oxygen generation plants are functional in the state. On this occasion, Cabinet Ministers Bishan Singh Chufal, Subodh Uniyal, Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat, Swami Yatishwaranand, Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu, Additional Chief Secretary Anand Bardhan, Secretary Amit Negi, Shailesh Bagoli, Director General of Police Ashok Kumar etc. were present.
