Uttarakhand / Lalkuan: Married woman dies under suspicious circumstances, dowry murder case filed against husband, police officer starts investigation

A case of dowry death has been registered against the husband of the deceased by the family members of the deceased after the death of a married woman under suspicious circumstances in village Gangapur of Halduchaud, Kotwali area. The police officer inspected the spot and started investigation into the matter.

According to the information received, a complaint was given in Lalkuan Kotwali by Anil Singh, resident of Paharpani police station Mukteshwar. In which it is said that the marriage of his sister Pooja was concluded on 7th December 2019 in Ghorakhal temple with complete Hindu rituals with Kamlesh Bisht son Jeet Singh, resident of Gangapur Halduchaud. During the marriage, he had given his sister all the jewelery and other items in dowry and 50 thousand rupees in cash. Despite this, the son-in-law used to demand money from him from time to time, it is said in the Tahrir that he also came to know later that his son-in-law was also addicted to drugs while living in the wrong company. Meanwhile, his sister had a son who is one and a half year old at present. Son-in-law Kamlesh pressurizes Pooja to give her son to his elder brother as he has no children, in return he has a deal with elder brother for Rs 15 lakh. To which Pooja objected, then there were frequent disputes between Pooja and her husband.

In the Tahrir given in the Kotwali, it has been said that last evening he was told over the phone that Pooja’s health was bad and Sushila Tiwari was admitted to the hospital. When those people immediately reached the hospital, it was found that his sister had died and her body was in the mortuary. The Tahrir further states that Kamlesh killed Pooja in the greed of money. Injury marks were also found on Pooja’s body. He has demanded the immediate arrest of the accused by registering a case in the matter. On the other hand, after conducting a post-mortem, the Haldwani police handed over the dead body to the relatives.

In this regard, Lalkuan Kotwal Sanjay Kumar says that the police have registered the above case under dowry murder, the police officer will investigate this matter.

On the other hand, Police Officer Shantanu Parashar went to the spot and investigated the matter closely and recorded the statements of the people concerned. Talking to reporters on this occasion, he said that the dead body was found in the Gaushala and a bottle of Nuwan was also lying outside the Gaushala. Necessary action will be taken after the post-mortem report is received.
