Uttarakhand / Roorkee : Father arrested for raping minor daughter, used to beat up on protest, threatened to kill
The father has been arrested by the police for raping a minor daughter in Pathri area. It is alleged that he had been raping his minor daughter for a long time. On protesting, he used to beat up the daughter and also threatened to kill her.
Case registered under sections like POCSO, rape etc.
Pathri SHO Ravindra Kumar said that on receiving the complaint, a case was registered against the accused Amit son Santram resident Ambedkar Nagar village Ambuwala police station Pathri Haridwar under sections like POCSO, rape etc. The police has arrested the accused. He was produced in court and sent to jail. The statement of the victim will be recorded in the court while getting the medical done.
A fast track court has sentenced the accused to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment in the case of kidnapping and rape of a teenager in Roorkee. Along with this, a fine of 60 thousand rupees has also been imposed on the accused. This issue is almost a year old. Out of the fine, an amount of Rs 50,000 will be given to the victim as compensation.
Government advocate Vivek Kush said that on March 18, 2021, at nine o’clock in the morning, a teenager resident of Roorkee area was kidnapped by a young man from near the school. In this case, the father of the teenager had filed a case against the accused Rishabh resident Jhabredi Kalan police station Jhabreda in this regard. Later, while recovering the teenager, the accused Rishabh was arrested and sent to jail.
The matter of rape also came to the fore during the investigation. The said matter was pending in the fast track court and in the court of Additional Sessions Judge Roorkee Mohammad Sultan. The court convicted the accused Rishabh on the basis of evidence and witnesses.
The court sentenced the accused to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment for abduction and rape. Besides, a fine of Rs 60,000 has also been imposed on the accused. In default of payment of fine, the accused shall also undergo further imprisonment. At the same time, out of 60 thousand rupees 50 thousand will be given to the victim as compensation.
