China’s built bridge in PoK broken due to heat, pillars could not withstand the strong current

A Chinese-built bridge in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pooke could not withstand the floods of a glacial lake and collapsed. Its video is also becoming increasingly viral on social media. In fact, due to the scorching heat, the Shispar Glacier is melting rapidly and due to this the glacier lake was flooded. This bridge was built on the Karakoram Highway. It can be seen in the video that the bridge fell like a pack of cards and was washed away in the water.

Pakistan’s Minister Sherry Rehman said in a tweet that the Ministry of Climate Change had already warned about this. Due to the strong current from the Schisper glacier, erosion started under the pillar, due to which the bridge collapsed. He has said that in 48 hours a temporary bridge will be built here again.

Why was this bridge of PoK special
This bridge was special for Pakistan because the road from PoK to China via Karakoram Valley was connected to this bridge. This bridge was also considered a center of attraction because of the valley and high roads. China had built this bridge. The problem of scorching heat and melting glaciers in this area has persisted for many years.
