The district administration and railways have finally finalized the action plan to remove the encroachment and the railways will also give Rs 23 crore for removing the encroachment. On Saturday, a meeting was held in the camp office under the chairmanship of DM Dhiraj Singh Garbyal and in this he has asked the railway officials to apprise the district administration 15 days in advance on fixing the date of encroachment removal action. It was also informed that 23 crore would be spent in this one month long campaign and the district officer has also fixed the responsibility of the officers for different arrangements. Bulldozers will roar on the encroachers in the presence of seven thousand police personnel and 15 company paramilitary forces. Railways now only have to set a date to run a bulldozer in an illegal colony. All the other preparations have been done.
Giving information, the District Magistrate said that during the removal of encroachments, toilets and bathrooms will be required for PAC, paramilitary for security and for this orders have been given to the Executive Engineer of LNV for tender. Out of Rs 23 crore, the maximum expenditure will be on the vehicle and food of the police team. In this one-month long campaign, an estimate of Rs 18.50 crore has been made for the vehicles for the security personnel and their food arrangements. At the same time, security will also be provided to the petitioner Ravi Shankar Joshi, who has filed a petition on encroachment. In fact, RTI activist Ravi Shankar Joshi, a resident of Gaulapar, had raised his voice in the court against the encroachment on 29 acres of railway land for the last 40 years. At present, 4,365 families are residing in this place by encroaching.
