Uttar Pradesh / Dehradun : People were stunned to see a bloody woman knocking on the door of the house, then heard the horrific incident

A car coming from Haridwar fell into a deep gorge one km before the patti. The mother-son and the driver died on the spot in the accident. All the deceased were residents of Lakhanpur Lada area of Pati, while a woman was badly injured. The family members of the injured woman after first aid have been taken to a private hospital in Bareilly.
Had Manju Gahatodi, the lone injured in the accident, had not shown courage, the car accident that happened in the night would have been detected late. The injured Manju was also unconscious when the car fell into a 400-metre gorge. After some time she regained consciousness, in the dark, Manju reached the road from the ditch and then she reached New Colony by walking on the shortcut road. There Manju knocked on the door of neighbor Girish Patchouli at 11:30 pm.
Girish was stunned to see Manju who was bleeding in the night. He somehow managed himself and immediately called the police and emergency services. The injured Manju was taken to the primary health center of Pati by ambulance of emergency service 108. Patchouli says that once due to this whole incident, there was darkness in front of his eyes.
He did not understand what to do but then he recovered and informed the people around, including the police and emergency services, by phone. After this the villagers went to the spot and carried out rescue work. Had Manju not reached the neighbor’s house showing courage, the accident would have been delayed. Villagers say that the place where the car fell into the ditch, that part of the road is covered with trees and plants. Once again the system failed to generate hope in the time of crisis amid the tall claims of dealing with the disaster. The incident which took place during the night exposed the claims. Even the State Disaster Relief Force (SDRF) did not have adequate lighting. Due to insufficient light, villagers helped in extricating the dead bodies with flashlight, emergency light, mobile phone light.

Baldev Gehtodi, father of Pradeep Gehtodi, clerk in the education department, died about two decades ago. This time due to some reason he could not perform Shradh of his father on the scheduled date. For this reason, on May 11, he went to Haridwar to complete this ritual. When he returned from Haridwar after completing the program on Thursday, it became an accident after the car fell into the ditch at night. Pradeep Gahatodi had also performed the sacrificial rites of the only son, Ankur, serving in a private company in Hisar, Haryana on April 22.
The condition of Pati mortuary is very bad. The plight of this morgue became known during the post-mortem on Friday. There was no place to keep the dead bodies. No electricity, no water and no staff here. Dr. Kuldeep Yadav and Dr. Priya, who came from Champawat, did the post-mortem of all the three bodies. People demanded former MLA Puran Singh Furtyal to improve the morgue. Furtyal assured to make necessary arrangements in this.
At the same time, CMO Dr. KK Aggarwal says that in this morgue usually post-mortems are not done. Post mortems are conducted at Lohaghat. Only in special circumstances, permission was given for post-mortem at Pati on Friday. Earlier, post-mortems were conducted here in the year 2010 during the epidemic spread in Sundungara. Let us tell you, the fifth month of the year 2022, May is not even half over, but it is very frightening in view of the road accident. This year, in less than four-and-a-half months (till May 13), as many people have lost their lives as they did not in the last three years. So far this year, 30 people have lost their lives, while 42 people have been injured.
