Truth and Reality

The fate of 4 teams rests on Mumbai Indians, Kohli’s Bangalore should not be out!

The race for the playoffs in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 continues. The victory of Delhi Capitals (DC) against Punjab Kings (PBKS) has made this battle more exciting. Where Gujarat Titans (GT) are the only team to secure their place in the playoffs with 20 points from 13 matches. At the same time, Chennai Super Kings and Mumbai Indians (MI) have been out of the race for the playoffs.

Mumbai Indians may have been out of the race for the playoffs, but the fate of four teams, including RCB, rests in their hands. If Mumbai beats Delhi Capitals in their last league match on 21st May, RCB can reach the playoffs. But for this, RCB will have to defeat Gujarat Titans in their last league match.

If Delhi beat Mumbai, then it will be difficult for RCB to reach the playoffs as they will reach 16 points after a win against Gujarat, but it will be very difficult to beat Lucknow and Delhi in terms of net run rate.

Playoff equation in IPL-

Lucknow Super Giants: Lucknow Super Giants currently have 16 points, but their playoff seat has not been decided. The team will now face Kolkata Knight Riders in the last match, winning which they can go to the playoffs. The team’s net-run is +0.262,

Delhi Capitals: Delhi Capitals have 14 points from 13 matches. Delhi now also has to enter the next match against Mumbai Indians, which will take them to 16 points and strengthen their claim for the playoffs. Delhi’s net run rate is currently 0.255 .

Royal Challengers Bangalore: RCB currently have 14 points after 13 matches. The team will not be out on 14 points yet, but the net run rate will play a very important role here and the net run rate of RCB is in minus. Bengaluru will now have to take 16 points by winning the next match against Gujarat Titans. RCB’s net run rate is currently -0.323.

Rajasthan Royals: Rajasthan Royals have amassed 16 points in 13 matches, but the team needs to win against Chennai Super Kings to ensure their place in the playoffs. Even if she loses the next match, the net run-rate can play a significant role, which is currently +0.304.

Kolkata Knight Riders: Kolkata Knight Riders currently have 12 points from 13 matches. This team now has to face Lucknow Super Giants in their last match. However, even after winning, KKR will have to depend on other teams. The net run rate of the team is +0.160.

Apart from this, Punjab Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad have also not been officially out of the race for the playoffs. If Sunrisers beat Mumbai and Punjab by big margin, they will still be able to reach 14 points. In such a situation, he will have to depend on the results of other teams. Talking about Punjab, it has to face Sunrisers in the last match, so in any case only one team between Punjab and Sunrisers will be able to reach the playoffs.
