Jammu and Kashmir : 10 killed in Ramban tunnel accident, all bodies recovered
Ten people have died in the tunnel being constructed on the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. All the bodies have been recovered. Rescue operation was carried out from Saturday morning amid bad weather. Nine more dead bodies during the rescue on Saturday During the rescue, the first body was buried under a rock. The body was removed after removing the debris through the machine. Half of the body was found on Saturday, the rescue is on to find the rest.
A laborer was killed at around 10.15 pm on Thursday night of the audit tunnel of T-3 on the highway near Khooni Nala in Ramban district of Jammu and Kashmir. However, three people were saved during the rescue.
After the improvement in the weather, the rescue operation was carried out again. A major portion of the hill had crashed on Friday, hampering the rescue operation. So the rescue operation had to be stopped.
On Friday, three people have been rescued, two people are admitted in the district hospital Ramban. They have been identified as Vishnu Gola of Jharkhand and Amin of Ramban. The third injured has been identified as Varinder Kumar, who is undergoing treatment at the Government Medical College, Jammu. Please tell that the worker whose body was found from the rubble has been identified as Sudhir Roy of West Bengal.
Divisional Commissioner Ramesh Kumar and Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) Mukesh Singh visited the spot. While Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha monitored the situation from the control room. Officials said that NDRF and SDRF teams are engaged in the rescue. Additional personnel have also been deployed along with the magistrate to expedite.
