Normal life was affected in Delhi-NCR on Monday morning due to heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms. Flights were affected at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI). Many passengers were kept in airport buses. There are also reports of many flights being diverted. According to the website of Delhi Airport, 100 flights were delayed till around 11 am due to bad weather and related reasons. Two flights have been cancelled. 19 flights were diverted to Jaipur and other airports.

Delhi airport tweeted saying that flights have been affected due to bad weather. Passengers are urged to get in touch with the respective airlines for updates regarding their flights. Due to the effect of Western Disturbance, heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms occurred in large parts of Delhi NCR. Road and air traffic have been disrupted due to bad weather.

Many flights were diverted to Jaipur and elsewhere
Sources said hundreds of passengers traveling in the morning flights have been affected. Flights taking off from Delhi are being rescheduled. Delhi airport sources said that 19 flights have been diverted to Jaipur and other airports due to bad weather in Delhi NCR.

Go First’s mismanagement came to the fore, passengers sitting in the bus for one and a half hours on the runway
A passenger of Go First told Amar Ujala that we were kept in the bus for one and a half hours near the runway of the airport. We were neither allowed to board the plane nor taken to the terminal building. There were many elderly and sick passengers in the bus, they had to face a lot of trouble. He said that there is no bus on the weather, but the mismanagement of the airlines came to the fore. No one took notice of the passengers sitting in the bus for one and a half hours. Had they been taken back to the terminal building itself, there would have been no problem. At around 7.30, he was allowed to board the plane. Even after this, it was not told when this plane will take off from Delhi. Not only Go Air, the same chaos has happened in the flights of almost all the airlines. Many people have complained about this.

Thunderstorm and rain in many cities of Haryana and UP
Not only Delhi NCR but also many cities of adjoining Haryana and UP received heavy rain with thunderstorms today. Roads were closed due to uprooting of trees at many places in the storm, causing problems in movement. Water logging also occurred at many places.
