PM Modi said- Drone technology is job creator, by 2030 India will become ‘Drone Hub’
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday inaugurated the two-day Drone Festival 2022 at Pragati Maidan in Delhi. During this he also inspected the exhibition. The Prime Minister said that I am impressed by the drone exhibition. By 2030, India will become a drone hub. He said, in every stall I went to today, everyone used to proudly say that this is Make in India.
The Prime Minister said that this festival is not just about drones, it is a celebration of New India – New Governance. The enthusiasm that is being seen in India regarding drone technology is amazing. This energy is visible, it is a reflection of the quantum jump in the drone service and drone based industry in India. The PM said, this energy shows the potential of an emerging large sector of employment generation in India. This was the time eight years ago, when we started implementing new mantras of good governance in India, he said.
Prime Minister Modi said that the earlier governments considered technology to be part of the problem. Attempts were made to prove him as anti-poor. Due to this, there was an atmosphere of indifference regarding the use of technology in governance before 2014. The poorest suffered the most, the deprived and the middle class suffered the most. He said, through technology, we can move ahead and achieve the goal of Antyodaya.
PM Modi further said that when the work of rebuilding Kedarnath started, it was not possible for me to go there every time. So I used to observe the work of Kedarnath through drone. Today, if we want to see the quality of government works, then it is not necessary that I should tell that I have to go there for inspection. If I send a drone, they bring the information and they do not even know that I have taken the information.
Until recently, India, completely dependent on imports for drones, is rapidly moving towards self-reliance in this matter. A ban on the import of drones was also announced in February with the aim of promoting the domestic industry. Now drone imports are allowed only for R&D, defense and security purposes. Clearance will be necessary for these also. Domestic drone manufacturers will benefit from the move to ban imports. The import of drone parts has not been banned. The government has also launched a Purchase Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme for the drone industry, which has received an overwhelming response.
