Uttarakhand: SDM, MLA controversy – MLA demanded suspension of SDM, the government took this step, SDM had told that the MLA was in danger of life
The dispute between SDM Purola and the local MLA is not stopping. Now MLA Dugeeshwar Lal has demanded the suspension of the SDM. However, the government has attached Purola SDM to the Garhwal Divisional Commissioner’s office, Pauri.
On Saturday, SDM Purola Sohan Singh Saini had lodged a complaint with the police against local MLA Durgeshwar Lal. The SDM had leveled several other allegations including threatening to kill the MLA. At the same time, MLA Durgeshwar had called all these allegations baseless. Now the MLA has demanded immediate suspension of the SDM along with conducting a high-level inquiry into the entire episode. The MLA said that he would also complain to the Speaker in this regard.
The MLA has also accused the Nagar Panchayat Purola, along with the SDM, of breaking the legitimate house of a Scheduled Caste person under a conspiracy. On the other hand, SDM Saini said that the MLA is prejudiced against him. At the same time, the government has associated Purola SDM Sohan Singh with the Garhwal Commissioner’s office, Pauri. SDM Purola has been instructed to be relieved from the present post immediately and posted at the new work place. A letter has been issued by the Under Secretary Hanuman Prasad Tiwari in this regard.
