Bihar : Bahubali MLA Anant Singh convicted in the case of possessing AK-47 and grenade, the court will sentence 21
Bahubali MLA from Mokama, Bihar, Anant Singh has been convicted. In 2019, AK-47s, 33 live cartridges and two hand grenades were recovered from his ancestral residence in Ladwan village. In this case, the MP-MLA court of Patna had completed the hearing on Monday. The court will now announce the sentence against Anant Singh on June 21. Anant Singh is currently lodged in Beur Jail in Patna. Special judge Triloki Dubey on Tuesday convicted him and placed the case in the category of a special case. He has completed the sentence on June 21. In this case, charges were framed against Anand Singh and the caretaker of the ancestral residence on October 15, 2020.
The search operation lasted for 11 hours
The then ASP of Barh district, Lipi Singh had claimed that he had strong information about smuggling of arms. After this the police raided the house of Anant Singh. AK-47s, live cartridges and hand grenades were recovered from his ancestral residence after a search operation that lasted for about 11 hours. According to the information, the police raided the residence of Anant Singh at four in the morning.
Surrendered in Delhi
After the raid, the Bihar Police arrested the caretaker of Anant Singh’s ancestral residence. Bahubali MLA Anant Singh absconded as soon as he got the information. However, after three to four days, he surrendered in Delhi’s Saket court. After this the Bihar Police had brought them to the flood. He is in police custody since 2019.
