Himachal Pradesh : PM Modi did a road show in Dharamsala, thousands of people welcomed by showering flowers
Thousands of people gathered in Dharamsala on Thursday for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s roadshow. Due to this road show of Modi, the political mercury rose in Lower Himachal and Kangra, the largest district of the state. People and BJP workers showered flowers on the Prime Minister in a roadshow of about one kilometer from the Board of Education to the Kachari Adda. The Prime Minister also showered flowers on the people. Prime Minister Modi has arrived for the ongoing three-day National Conference of Chief Secretaries at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Stadium, Dharamsala. During the road show, the Prime Minister accepted the greetings of the people by shaking both hands in an open jeep.
CM and Governor wore Himachali cap
The Prime Minister arrived by helicopter on the synthetic track at around 11:40 am. Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi wearing a Himachali cap and muffler. Here Union Minister Anurag Thakur, Industries Minister Bikram Thakur, Assembly Speaker Vipin Parmar and other leaders welcomed the Prime Minister.
After this, the Prime Minister along with the Chief Minister and the State President went out for a road show. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and BJP state president Suresh Kashyap were present in the jeep along with the Prime Minister.
The Prime Minister’s roadshow was welcomed by Tibetans by performing a traditional dance. People of Chamba and Kangra also presented a glimpse of the culture of Himachal Pradesh to the Prime Minister by presenting traditional dance.
Prime Minister Modi along with the Chief Minister and the State President went out on an open jeep for the road show. Union minister Anurag Thakur was not aboard the jeep. Assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh are due later this year. From this perspective, the Prime Minister’s visit is being considered important for the state BJP.
Road show started with chanting
The priests of Chamunda temple started the road show by worshiping and chanting. During the roadshow, thousands of BJP workers and fans of the party stood on both sides of the road on the route of about 1100 meters from KCC Bank Chowk to School Education Board Headquarters to welcome the PM. People raised slogans of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the meeting on the second day of the three-day first National Conference of Chief Secretaries at Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium, Dharamsala. During this, he held discussions with the officials on the implementation of the new education policy, urban governance and crop diversification and self-sufficiency in agricultural commodities. The conference was attended by more than 200 people representing the Central Government, all the States and Union Territories and thematic sector experts. In the conference chaired by PM Modi, discussions were held to create a roadmap for ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav-2047’. Apart from this, Center-State coordination was discussed in the conference to reduce compliance burden for ease of doing business, ensure maximum coverage of schemes and delivery to the last person.
During this, the officials also took a presentation on the efforts being made by the Central Government on the changes in India’s infrastructure, capacity building, under the Karmayogi Mission. The three-day first National Conference of Chief Secretaries will conclude on Friday. Prime Minister Narendra Modi himself will preside over this conference on the last day as well. It is being told that this conference will prepare the roadmap for the future in order to further strengthen the partnership between the central and state governments. The results that will emerge after a thorough deliberation in the conference will be discussed in the Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog. Chief ministers and administrators of all states and union territories will be present in that important meeting. Based on this, an action plan will be finalized with broad consensus at the national level.
