He has got the support of former Chief Minister Harish Rawat on the issue of GST and Tehri Dam share raised by Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union Ministers in New Delhi. Former Chief Minister Rawat said that Uttarakhand should get the right it deserves. The Chief Minister has raised both serious questions. The Center should take a quick decision on these. Former Chief Minister Harish Rawat said that Uttarakhand is also one of the states which have suffered due to the implementation of GST in the country. Now the time period for giving compensation from the center is about to end. This period should be extended by the Center for at least ten more years. He said that Chief Minister Dhami has also raised the issue of 25 percent stake in Tehri Dam with Prime Minister Modi.
He said that Tehri Dam is built on our land. If the money of undivided Uttar Pradesh is invested in this, it does not mean that he will continue to get 25 percent of the shares till eternity. Uttarakhand should now get this law. He said that Chief Minister Dhami has committed a big mistake during the distribution of assets by promising to withdraw the promises related to it in the court.
Otherwise, the decision would surely have come in favor of Uttarakhand in this matter. He said that now the Prime Minister will have to take a decision that the share of earnings going to Uttar Pradesh in Tehri Dam should now go to Uttarakhand. Harish has also taken a jibe at this, he said that it has to be seen, the Prime Minister’s love for Uttarakhand is limited to wearing only our cap and speaking a few Garhwali-Kumaoni words or will he stand with us on these basic questions also.
