The prices of all food items in Sri Lanka are increasing continuously. Apart from this, there are many such essential things in the country, which are facing shortage. Due to the scarcity of money, things are ending in the country and it is not in everyone’s power to buy whatever is left. Let us tell how the prices of fruits have increased in Sri Lanka.
The price of one kg of apples has gone up to Rs 1500 to 1600, which was Rs 350 per kg in January.
If someone wants to buy guava in Sri Lanka, then he will have to spend 600 rupees for a kilo. In January it was Rs 300.

  • The mango season is going on, but it has become far away from the reach of the common people of Sri Lanka. Because right now the price of mango here is Rs 600 per kg.
  • Banana, which usually fetches 50 to 100 rupees a dozen, in Sri Lanka you will have to spend 300 rupees right now. However, it was the same price in January as well.
  • If you want to buy oranges, then in Sri Lanka it will cost 1500 rupees. In January, the price of one kg of oranges here was Rs 350.
  • Talking about the price of coconut amidst the economic crisis in Sri Lanka, it has reached Rs 150. This price was Rs 70 in the month of January.
  • The price of strawberries has now reached Rs 775 in Sri Lanka. In the month of January, strawberries here were 500 rupees per kg. But now the price is increasing continuously.

The stock of many things in Sri Lanka is also almost on the verge of running out. These are the goods which are imported from abroad and reach Sri Lanka and because now Sri Lanka has less foreign exchange reserves, the goods are not being imported and its effect is now visible on the markets.

If we talk about food items, then the stock of pasta has run out. At the same time, cornflakes is Rs 500, ketchup Rs 450 per 300 grams, nutrella Rs 4500 per kg, cashews Rs 6 thousand per kg, butter is priced at Rs 1300 per 100 grams, cheese is Rs 1500 per 100 grams. Similarly, the prices of other goods have also increased manifold.
