The deadline for rice recovery was set 30 June, but the recovery has not happened yet. Now its deadline has been extended to 31st July, but even till this date recovery is difficult. The department has yet to recover 84414 metric tonnes from the rice mills. On the other hand, according to sources, the department has sent a letter to the Government of India seeking extension of the date of rice recovery to August 31.

The recovery could not take place due to lack of space in the godowns. Now the warehouses are empty. Rice is being recovered. Full recovery will be done by August 31.
