New airline Akasa Air on Friday said it will launch its first commercial flight on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route on August 7 using Boeing 737 MAX aircraft.

The company said that it has started selling tickets on 28 weekly flights. It will operate on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route from August 7. Along with this, it will operate on the Bangalore-Kochi route from August 13 on 28 weekly flights.

The company will start commercial flights with two 737 MAX aircraft. Boeing has delivered one MAX aircraft and another is due for delivery later this month. “We begin operations with the new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft with flights between Mumbai and Ahmedabad,” said Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and CEO, Akasa Air.
