Uttar Pradesh : Ruckus on dismantling Kanwar, vandalism in outpost, SP City fled after saving life

In Meerut district of Uttar Pradesh, Kanwars created a ruckus on NH-58 on Saturday after the Kanwar was broken. A young man from another community was beaten to death by Kanwariyas. The police post was vandalized and tried to arson. At the same time, the vehicle of SP City and a passerby was also broken.

At the same time, SP City and CO Daurala had to run for their lives. DM-SSP, BJP leaders and traders were busy in persuading the Kanwariyas. While opening the jam, the wheel of the car climbed on the feet of DM Deepak Meena. There was an atmosphere of chaos on the highway for about five hours.

A group of 40 Kanwariyas including Honey Mukhija, Dishant, Lokesh, Kapil, Dheeraj and Jatin, residents of Rajasthan Sikri Bharatpur, were carrying Gangajal from Haridwar. Kanwariya came and stopped at BJP Neeraj Mittal’s camp near Khirwa intersection on NH-58 highway at 11 am. They had their own kanwar tableau standing on the road.

The Kanwariyas allege that at 12 noon, two youths from another community on a bike reached there. Both the youths destroyed the Kanwar tableau, on which the Kanwariyas created a ruckus. During this, there was a crowd of Kanwariyas on the highway. One of the accused, who broke, was caught by the kanwariyas and beaten to death. The highway was also jammed on both sides.

Inspector Kankarkheda reached the spot along with the police force. Saved the accused from the kanwariyas and made him sit in the post. Angry kanwariyas tried to set fire to the police post by vandalizing them. On protesting, the kanwariyas thrashed the policemen, in which a constable was injured. Seeing the ruckus increasing, ADG, IG, DM, SSP and SP traffic reached the highway with a large number of police forces. Along with the BJP leader who set up the camp, MLC Dharmendra Bhardwaj, businessman Ganesh Agarwal, Nirankar, Joni and Amit Gupta also came there.

BJP leaders explained, police remained mute spectators
The kanwariyas were explained by BJP leaders and traders. It was told that the officers of the police administration remained mute spectators. The matter was settled at three o’clock. The policemen took two kanwariyas from Haridwar to collect Gangajal in their car. At 3:30, Bajrang Dal and Hindu Jagran Manch workers reached the highway. Again the kanwariyas created a ruckus.

On the other hand, SP City Vineet Bhatnagar and CO Daurala Ashish Sharma, who were sitting in the car near the police post, were attacked by Kanwariyas. SP City and a passerby’s car vandalized. SP City and CO had to run away after saving their lives. After this again the local people, businessmen and BJP leaders explained, then the commotion calmed down at around five o’clock.

Accused in custody, situation normal
The youths who have been accused of breaking the kanwar have been taken into custody by the police. During interrogation, one of the accused Rizwan told that he had come to the camp to have food. During this, a pebble came in the kheer, which he was throwing out, which fell on the tableau of Kanwar. The kanwariyas have been pacified by persuasion. The situation on the highway is normal.
