Uttarakhand / Almora : Villager is wandering from door to door for son’s treatment
A poor villager is not getting the benefit of free medical treatment due to the absence of his son’s name in the online ration card. He is wandering from door to door for the treatment of the poor son.
The 10-year-old son of Bhuvan Chandra Dalakoti, a resident of Dalakot in Bhainsiyachhana block of the district, fell while playing on July 20, injuring him. The family first brought the child to Almora district hospital for treatment. From here he was referred to the base hospital, Almora. From base he was referred to Haldwani Sushila Tiwari Medical College. Now Bhuvan Chandra is roaming there with his BPL card. Hospital officials say that the name of the child has not been added online in the ration card. Because of this the child is not getting the benefit of free medical treatment.
Bhuvan Chandra says that he is taking care of the family by doing Panditai. They do not even have money for the treatment of the child. Bhuvan Chandra has requested the government to provide treatment facilities like BPL family. Bhuvan has BPL number and also BPL card. Due to the absence of son’s name in the online ration card, the child is not getting free treatment.
