Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in the program organized on the occasion of Himalaya Day at Parmarth Niketan Rishikesh. On this occasion, he flagged off the Hari Mandir chariot. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami talked about the formation of a committee for the study, conservation and promotion of natural water sources of the Himalayas, streams, which will make every effort to save and preserve the natural water sources of the Himalayas through various efforts. . There should be a different development model for the entire Himalayan states to suit the different geographical and local conditions. He said that we also shared issues related to important concerns of Himalayas in the meeting of NITI Aayog and shared important suggestions and proposals in this regard.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that Himalayas have importance not only for any state and country but for the whole world. The responsibility of preserving the Himalayas lies with all of us. For the conservation of Himalayas, it is necessary to conserve the culture, rivers and forests here. Along with development, a balance has to be struck with nature as well. Conservation of Himalayas is necessary for the conservation of nature. The Himalayan states also need to focus on the integration of ecology and economy in view of development. He said that environmental protection is in the nature of the people of Uttarakhand, festivals like Harela are the result of far-reaching thinking of our ancestors to connect with nature. There is a need for integrated thinking on the changes taking place in the environment, global warming as well as issues related to water, forest, land. Only with social consciousness and integrated collective efforts, we can become cooperative in solving this problem.
Pramarth Niketan Pramukh Swami Chidanand Saraswati Ji Maharaj while congratulating Himalaya Day said that every person of the hill state is the watchdog of Himalayas. Conservation of vast land like Himalayas is in real sense the protection of our future. He said that conservation of Himalayas is possible along with conservation of Ganga, reservoir, natural resources, glaciers. The existence of Mother Ganga is based on the existence of Himalayas and glaciers, while conferring Ekal Hanuman Samman to Chief Minister Dhami, he said that Chief Minister Dhami is working tirelessly to protect the environment like Hanuman. The Cabinet Minister in the Government of Uttar Pradesh, Smt. Baby Rani Maurya said that the atmosphere and environment of Uttarakhand attracts the whole world towards itself. He said that coming here gives new energy. Along with the protection of the Himalayas, the protection of the life-giving mother Ganga is also very important and everyone’s participation is necessary in the protection of the environment. He urged for plantation of saplings before every auspicious work and to make Uttarakhand as well as the whole of India plastic free.
Expressing concern over global warming, climate change and increasing pollution, Cabinet Minister Subodh Uniyal said that it is very important to conserve the Himalayan glacier along with the nature environment. He said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, the Forest Department is engaged in the work of reviving forests and natural water sources. He said that all of us and the coming generation will have to be determined to protect and enhance the environment and the Himalayas. Padmashree Dr. Anil Joshi while congratulating Himalaya Day said that discussions and brainstorming for the conservation of Himalayas should be done seriously by the residents, NGOs, research institutes here. He said that along with the protection of the Himalayas, it is also very important to protect the indigenous people, for which a balance has to be struck between development and the environment. He said that our future is safe only when the Himalayas are safe.
