There is a festive atmosphere in Gawana, the native village of newly appointed CDS Lt Gen Anil Chauhan (retired). On Wednesday evening, the families of his cousins ​​Bijendra Singh Chouhan, Darshan Singh Chouhan and Balam Singh Chouhan organized Bhajan-Kirtan with the villagers. On Thursday, along with providing refreshments to the villagers, happiness was celebrated by distributing sweets in the village. The relatives and the villagers kept on dancing to the beats of Dhol-Damau since morning.

The three cousins ​​lived with the family in the village

The three cousins ​​of Lt Gen Anil Chauhan, resident of village Gawana, located in Chalanasun Patti of Khirsu block of Pauri district, live in the village along with the family. Since the elder brother became the CDS, his happiness has no bounds.

Villagers smear gulal on each other

There has been an influx of people congratulating him since Wednesday evening. Congratulation is also being received continuously on the phone. Even on Thursday, the villagers continued to dance to the tune of folk songs by applying Gulal on each other.

Relatives will go to meet him in Delhi

Cousin Bijendra Singh told that about seven years ago CDS Chauhan had come to the village. He is a dedicated, hardworking and practical person. Now relatives will go to Delhi to meet him.

Bhai Darshan Singh’s daughter Khushi Chauhan appeared very happy when Tauji became CDS. He said that this achievement of Tauji will inspire the youth of the mountain to move forward. Khushi’s mother Bina Chauhan and village head Jyoti Devi said that it is a matter of pride for the village as well as the whole of Uttarakhand.

People from nearby villages also reached CDS villages

On the other hand, people from nearby villages are also reaching Gawana village, located about 18 km from Srinagar, to congratulate the relatives of the newly appointed CDS. The whole village resonated with the chants of ‘Vande Mataram’, ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ when the yoga seeker Ganesh Bhatt reached Gawana. Along with the cousins, the villagers also expressed special gratitude to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for being elected as the CDS of the village’s son.
