Uttarakhand / Almora : Dispute resolved, Ravana’s effigy was burnt on the second day of Dussehra

Finally, the controversy over burning the effigy of Ravana in Almora has been resolved. Due to the dispute of the effigy committee here, instead of the day of Dussehra, the effigy of Ravana had to be burnt on the second day. Actually, on the day of Vijayadashami in Almora, there was a dispute between two effigy committees in the evening. The matter increased so much that the members of the effigy committee refused to burn Ravana and brought the effigy back to the place where the effigy was made and raised it at the same place. After which the issue of not burning Ravana in Almora remained in the headlines. However, in the Dussehra Committee meeting, a reconciliation was reached between the two effigy committees (Almora Ravana effigy burning controversy). After which it was agreed to burn the effigy. Finally, on Thursday evening, the effigy of Ravana was burnt in front of the municipality.
