Children will be able to take information about any technology online, digital library will be created – Chief Secretary Uttarakhand

Chief Secretary Dr. S.S. A review meeting of the Skill Development Department was held in the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Sandhu. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that quality skill development can play an important role towards employment. For this, skill development is done according to the interest of the children. For this, there is a need to focus on skill development of children from class 6 onwards. He said that ITI trainers should initially visit the schools around them, one training class should be organized in a week. Efforts should be made to know the interest of the children so that training can be provided to the children accordingly. The Chief Secretary directed that the courses should be updated continuously and modern techniques should be used according to the need of the present and future in the State Institutes of Technology. He said that the trainers also need to be constantly updated with the new technology, for this training of the trainers should also be done. Also, new trades should be included. He said that a digital library should be arranged so that children can get information about any technology online.

The Chief Secretary said that by including industries in its plans, arrangements should be made to provide training to the children directly in the industries itself. For this, agreements can be made with industrial institutions. Training should be made available in the training institutes through new and modern equipment. For this modernization of ITI Lab should be done. During the meeting, Secretary Skill Development Vijay Kumar Yadav informed that upgradation work of 24 ITIs is going on through World Bank project to ensure quality training in the state. Under this, internet facility is being provided including smart classrooms/workshops, green and smart campuses. He said that 8 ITIs are being focused on providing quality training in partnership with industries under the STRIVE (CS) scheme. Upgradation of 22 ITIs is being done in collaboration with NABARD. On this occasion other high officials of skill development department were present.
