Uttarakhand : Vigilance will file chargesheet against former ARTO Anand Jaiswal, the government has given permission

Vigilance has prepared a charge sheet against former ARTO Anand Jaiswal, who is in jail in the embezzlement case. Vigilance had sought permission from the government to file it. The Vigilance Committee of the government has given permission to file the charge sheet in the court. The ARTO is accused of embezzlement of about Rs 29 lakh. Vigilance had registered a case of cheating, embezzlement, corruption and disproportionate assets on March 18, 2017 after a preliminary inquiry into the matter. He was arrested on September 6 after about six hours of interrogation. Vigilance has prepared a charge sheet against him on charges of corruption act, cheating and embezzlement.

In the meeting of the Vigilance Committee chaired by Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu on Wednesday, permission has been given to file the charge sheet in the court. However, the written permission has not yet reached the Vigilance. It is being told that Vigilance can file chargesheet by next week.

What was the matter
Anand Jaiswal is a 2009 batch PCS officer. It is alleged that as soon as he got the appointment in the Transport Department, he started misusing the post. Held additional charge of ARTO with Transport Tax Officer in Rishikesh from year 2010 to 2015. Taking advantage of the dual responsibility, he did not recover the excess amount of the challan and gave the entire revenue to the government. Show only 100-100 rupees in the treasury after challaning one thousand rupees each. He had embezzled a total of Rs 29 lakh.
