The doors of Shri Badrinath-Kedarnath temple will remain closed on October 25 due to solar eclipse. The Chief Administrative Officer of the temple said that after the eclipse, worship will be done in the evening. Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday offered prayers at the Badrinath temple. Uttarakhand Governor Lt Gen (Retd) Gurmeet Singh and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami were also present at the temple along with the PM. Before reaching Badrinath, PM Modi had visited Kedarnath Dham in Rudraprayag. He wore the Chola Dora, a traditional Pahari dress. This dress was gifted to the PM by the lady of Himachal.

Eclipse will start after noon

A partial eclipse of the Sun will occur on October 25, 2022. According to the Ministry of Earth Sciences, the eclipse in India will start in the afternoon. It can be seen from most places of the country. Apart from Badrinath and Kedarnath temples, Lord Venkateswara Temple at Tirumala in Tirupati will also remain closed for about 12 hours due to solar eclipse on October 25 and lunar eclipse on November 8.

How long will the sutak last

According to Ujjain’s astrologer Pt. Anandshankar Vyas, on Monday, October 25, the touch of the solar eclipse will be from 04.42 and salvation will be at 6.30, while the sunset will be at 5.50 pm. Since the salvation of the eclipse occurs after the sunset, it will be called a severe eclipse. Due to the lack of sight of the sun after salvation, the next day on October 26, the eclipse will end only after seeing the sun. Therefore, on October 25, worship will not be done in temples from morning till night.

Lunar eclipse will happen on November 8

After the solar eclipse on 25 October, there will be a lunar eclipse on 8 November. This day will be Kartik Purnima. According to Indian time, this eclipse will start from 02.41 in the afternoon and will remain till 06.20 in the evening. The Sutak of this eclipse will be considered to start from 9 hours before. Apart from India, this eclipse will be seen in Southern/Eastern Europe, Asia, Australia, North America, South America, Pacific, Atlantic and Indian Ocean.
