By how many times have the match fees of women cricketers increased? Central contract still ‘as it is’

Thursday (27 October) has been a very special day for Indian women cricketers. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has given him a special gift after Diwali. The BCCI has now implemented a wage equity policy, under which women cricketers will also get match fees at par with men.

BCCI Secretary Jay Shah has given this information through social media. With this good news, fans are now curious to know that after this decision, the match fees of women cricketers will increase by how much? How much difference will the BCCI’s decision make in the earnings of women cricketers?

There was a difference of three times in the match fees between men and women

If compared to the average, till now senior women cricketers used to get 20 thousand rupees per day for matches in domestic cricket. It was almost equal to that of an under-19 male cricketer. While senior male players earn an average of 60 thousand rupees per day as match fees. In such a situation, there was a big difference of three times between women and men. But now this discrimination will also go away. Whereas before 2022, women cricketers were given only Rs 12,500 under match fees.

What is the match fee for men and women?

If seen in the form of match fees, then 15 lakh rupees are available for a match in Test cricket. Whereas in One Day International, men are given 6 lakh rupees for a match. Also, 3 lakh rupees are available for playing a match in T20 International cricket.

According to the rules, at present, a female cricketer gets Rs 1 lakh for any one ODI or T20 International match. Whereas a fee of 4 lakhs is available for a test match. (Rupees one lakh per day). After the announcement of BCCI, now the women’s team will get the same match fee as the men’s team.

How much match fee do men get?

▪️One Test match: Rs 15 lakh
▪️One ODI match: Rs 6 lakh
▪️One T20 match: Rs 3 lakh

Central Contract: There will be no change in the contract amount

It is worth noting here that the new policy implemented by BCCI is only regarding match fees. Not about the central contract. That is, there is still a huge difference between women and men in the Central Contract List. While there are four categories for men, there are only three categories for women.

Male cricketers get Rs 5 crore annually in category A. Whereas among women A category players get only 50 lakh rupees. That is, there is a difference of 10 times here. Similarly, there is a similar difference between B and C categories. Whereas male players in A+ category get Rs 7 crore annually.

How much money is available in Central Contract 2021-22?

▪️Male Contracts: Category A+ (Rs 7 crore), Category A (Rs 5 crore), Category B (Rs 3 crore) and Category C (Rs 1 crore).
▪️Women Contract: Category A (Rs 50 lakh), Category B (Rs 30 lakh) and Category C (Rs 10 lakh).

BCCI recently extended the central contract

Let us tell you that recently the Board of Control for Cricket in India had extended the central contract of women cricketers. The Indian women’s team reached the final of the 2017 World Cup. He was rewarded for this. After this, the BCCI extended the central contract and gave gifts to women cricketers. However, the central contract of men was also extended.

How much was received in Central Contract 2015-16?

▪️Male Contract: Category A (Rs 1 crore), Category B (Rs 50 lakh) and Category C (Rs 25 lakh).
▪️Women Contract: Category A (Rs 15 lakh) and Category B (Rs 10 lakh).

Mithali Raj welcomed the decision

The cricket world has welcomed this move. India’s great cricketer Mithali Raj said, ‘This is a historic step. This is a new dawn for women’s cricket. Equal match fees and women’s IPL are steps to take women’s cricket to where men’s cricket is today.

She said, “Being a part of the women’s cricket community, I thank BCCI and secretary Jay Shah for this. We have been seeing the popularity and growth of women’s cricket since 2017. This is a step in the right direction.

Harbhajan and Rangaswamy also said this thing

Shantha Rangaswamy, outgoing member of the Apex Council and former India player, said, ‘This is a revolutionary decision. This proves that women in India are seen as equals and there is no bias. I thank Jay Shah, Roger Binny and Rajeev Shukla.

Former India player Harbhajan Singh also welcomed the decision of BCCI. “BCCI has set standards for other sports federations. This will motivate women to participate in sports. Historic step.’ Indian women’s cricket team recently won the title by defeating Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup. Apart from this, he also won a silver medal in the Birmingham Commonwealth Games. In the last annual general meeting, the BCCI had announced to conduct the first women’s IPL next year.

The father told that Manmohan was missing from home since the incident. After which, he expressed doubt that maybe his son had committed the murder and set the room on fire. The police already suspected the son The police immediately registered a case against the son and started investigation. After which, on the night of 14 August, the police arrested Manmohan Singh from Kulhal area. During interrogation, Manmohan Singh confessed his crime. He told that he has been addicted to drugs for a long time. He has already gone to jail in drug smuggling and Arms Act cases. On the day of the incident, he had asked his mother for money for drugs. But his mother refused to give him money and also did not let him go out of the house. He fled with the money after the murder After which, Manmohan Singh, in anger, attacked his mother’s neck with a wooden stick kept in the house. Due to which she died on the spot. After the murder, Manmohan Singh wrapped the body in a mattress and set it on fire so that it appeared that the woman died due to burning. Manmohan fled on a motorcycle with 30 thousand rupees kept in the cupboard of the house and his clothes.
