Controversial Bollywood actress Kangana Ranaut has extended her support to the new owner of Twitter, Elon Musk. Along with this, Kangana also has an interesting advice for verified blue ticks on this micro blogging site. He said that every Twitter user holding an Aadhaar card in India should get a verified blue tick.
Kangana described Twitter as a better social media platform from an intellectual and ideological point of view. He also justified Musk’s decision to charge about $8 a month for verified Twitter accounts. Kangana said on Instagram, “I never understood the idea of verification for select people. It’s like there is no real presence of other people. I will be verified but if my father wants one blue tick then three Four of the clowns will discredit his identity as if he is an illegal person. Every person holding an Aadhar card should get the Verified mark.”
Last year, Kangana’s Twitter account was permanently suspended for breaking the rules of the social media platform several times. The ban on Twitter came after Kangana claimed that Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress’s victory in the West Bengal assembly elections had triggered violence in the state.
Twitter users will have to pay $7.99 per month in the US for a blue tick. Musk has indicated that it will be increased according to the parachuting power of people in other countries. The new Twitter Blue with Verification will initially be available in the US, UK, Australia and New Zealand. Twitter Blue’s subscribers will see half the ads in addition to the blue tick compared to before. Subscribers will also be able to post longer videos and their content will rank higher in search results as well as reply threads and mention lists. Soon after taking control of Twitter, Musk ousted the company’s CEO, Parag Agarwal, CFO Ned Segal, general counsel Sean Edgett and legal policy, trust and security head Vijaya Gadde. A big problem for Twitter has been monetizing. Musk wants to address this.
