Northern Command Chief Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi has given a big statement on Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK). He said on Tuesday – When the Government of India orders, the army is ready to take action on PoK.
He said that a resolution has been passed in the Parliament on the issue of PoK. The Indian Army is fully prepared for every order of the government. He said that whenever the government orders, the army will move ahead with its full preparation. He also informed that around 160 terrorists are present on Pakistani launchpads to infiltrate into India. We will not let their plans succeed.
The demand for PoK was raised at the Defense Minister’s rally
Let us tell you that on November 3, Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was addressing a rally in Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, people from the crowd said – PoK is also needed in India now. On this the Defense Minister said… have patience, have patience. Rajnath was talking about the brave soldiers of Himachal. During this, the people present in the rally raised slogans of PoK.
A lot has changed in Jammu and Kashmir
Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi said on the target killing happening in Jammu and Kashmir that a lot of work has been done to stop terrorism in the state. Enraged by this, attempts are made by the terrorists to send pistols and sometimes weapons in this way and unarmed people are targeted, but the terrorists will never be able to succeed in their plans. He claimed that a lot has changed in Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of Article 370. Terrorism has been curbed in the state.
Around 160 terrorists are sitting on the launchpad
Dwivedi told that about 160 terrorists are sitting on the launchpad, in which 130 terrorists are present in the north of Pir Panjal and 30 in the south of Pir Panjal. A total of 82 Pakistani terrorists and 53 local terrorists are holed up in the entire hinterland. Apart from this, Pakistan is constantly trying to send drugs. Recently, we have seized drugs worth crores of rupees. Even the terrorists we are killing on the border, these people say that you are killing smugglers. It is clear that Pakistan is making efforts to sell drugs every day.
35% youth below the age of 20 are terrorists
Dwivedi said that 35 percent of the youth are terrorists below the age of 20 years. 55 percent of the youth are becoming terrorists between the age of 20-30. In such a situation, we have to try to make the youth educated, bring them up well and the army is also making every effort so that the youth do not get radicalised.
PoK is a part of Jammu and Kashmir
PoK i.e. Pakistan Occupied Kashmir is that part of India which shares border with Pakistan. After partition in 1947, Pakistan occupied this part of Jammu and Kashmir with the help of tribal rebels.
The Indian army was fighting to take back this part, but at the same time Jawaharlal Nehru, the then Prime Minister of India, went to the United Nations (UN) on the issue of Kashmir. The UN intervened and got a ceasefire between the two countries and ‘whatever was there, was captured’.
Since then, the armies of both the countries have been stationed on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) instead of the International Border. LoC is an 840 kilometer long border line drawn between the two countries.

Pakistan has divided PoK into two parts
Pakistan is not ready to give up PoK and calls it Azad Kashmir. At present, Pakistan has divided PoK into two parts, Gilgit and Baltistan. The Government of India has been talking about taking back PoK from time to time.
In 2014, after the formation of the BJP government under the leadership of Narendra Modi at the Center, this issue became more heated. After the abrogation of Article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir by the Modi government, the demand for withdrawal of PoK has been rising loudly.
