Madhya Pradesh : BJP councilor murdered in Gwalior, friend invited to birthday party, thrashed to death

A BJP corporator was beaten to death by his friends in Gwalior. Friend invited him to his birthday party. Then killed him along with his companions.
The incident is of Murar police station area. The police got the information late on Wednesday night. By the time the police reached the spot, the attackers had fled. Today, angry with the incident, the relatives and supporters of the corporator surrounded the police station by staging a protest at the Baradari Square. Police has arrested 1 of the 5 accused.
Shailu alias Shailendra Kushwaha (40) was the councilor of ward number-3. It is said that Shailendra was close to Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar and relative of Minister of State Bharat Singh Kushwaha. Shailendra’s wife Radha Kushwaha told that it was their marriage anniversary on 23 November (Wednesday). Husband came home at 6 pm on Wednesday. The children insisted on bringing cake and sweets for the marriage anniversary. On this they went to the market to buy cakes and eatables. They returned home at 10 pm with cake and stuff. After some time Raj aka Rajesh Sharma, Bhura aka Sarvesh Tomar, Vicky Kaushal, Vineet Rajawat and Dheeraj Pal came. They took her husband along saying it was a birthday party.
The councilor had an old enmity with his friend
Councilor’s friend Vicky’s birthday was on Wednesday. He had a late night party. According to Radha, the corporator’s wife, the accused took her away. Two and a half hours later, information about the fatal attack on the husband was received. Accused Rajesh Sharma was with her husband since morning. The husband had a fight with Bhura Tomar a day earlier. Then I had also explained to Bhura. In fact, the fight with Bhura was going on for about two-three months back. This quarrel took place due to commotion at the dhaba after eating and drinking. Two days ago, Bhura started the conversation again. The husband also started the conversation from his side.
Everything was normal till 11.30 pm
Radha Kushwaha told that she spoke to husband Shailu Kushwaha at 11.30 pm on Wednesday night. Till then everything was normal. When called to cut the anniversary cake, the husband had said – I am coming in a while. The husband often came home only after 12 o’clock in the night.
Attacked late night with sticks and rods
In the complaint application given to the police, the family said that at 12.30 in the night, we got information that Raj alias Rajesh Sharma, Bhura alias Sarvesh Tomar, Vicky Kaushal, Vineet Rajawat and Dheeraj Pal were beating the councilor with sticks and rods at Vanshipura intersection. Radha told that she along with mother-in-law Lakshmi Kushwaha, father-in-law Rambabu Kushwaha, uncle Naresh Kushwaha and brother-in-law Ramu Kushwaha reached Vanshipura intersection. There the five attackers were beating the husband. Everyone ran away seeing us coming. Taking husband Shailendra Kushwaha in an injured condition, reached the district hospital Murar, where the duty doctor referred him to Jayarogya Hospital after examining him. Shailu alias Shailendra Kushwaha died here at 2.30 am during treatment.
Chakkajam demanding arrest
On receiving information about the murder of councilor Shailu Kushwaha, the family members gheraoed the Murar police station demanding the arrest of the accused. On the other hand, the corporator’s supporters staged a chakkajam at the busiest Baradari crossing of the city.
