Iran’s Supreme Leader Khamenei’s niece releases video against government

The niece of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Khamenei has released a video urging foreign governments to end all contact with Iran. Farida Muradkhani’s father, an engineer by profession, had married Ayatollah’s sister.

In her video, Farida said that the government of Iran does not know any other rule than “strength and staying in power”.

According to human rights activists, Farida was arrested in January this year. He is believed to be held in Tehran’s infamous Irvin prison.

His brother Mahmood Muradkhani is also an activist and lives in France. Mahmood has shared this video of his sister online. Anti-government protests have been going on in Iran for more than two months. Protesters have taken to the streets against the strict rules regarding hijab. According to activists, at least 450 people have been killed in these demonstrations so far.
