China’s first statement came out on the clash in Tawang

India has taken a tough stand on the clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh and the central government has swung into action. Meanwhile, China’s first statement on the skirmish and border dispute (India-China Clash) has come out and the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that the situation on its border with India is stable.

Talks continue through diplomatic and military channels: China

When India raised the issue of skirmish between Indian and Chinese soldiers on the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Tawang, Arunachal Pradesh, China said that the situation on the border is stable. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said, ‘As far as we understand, the situation on the China-India border is overall stable.’ He further said, ‘Continuous talks are going on on the border issue through diplomatic and military channels.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh gave a statement in Parliament on the clash

Earlier, India’s Defense Minister Rajnath Singh had given a statement in both the Houses of Parliament on the skirmish between the soldiers of China and India in Tawang. He said that on December 9, 2022, China tried to change the status quo in the Yangtse area of Tawang sector on the border and the Indian Army bravely stopped this attempt of China. The Indian Army forced the PLA troop to return to their post.

Along with this, while giving information about the incident in Parliament, Rajnath Singh also told that some soldiers of India and China have suffered injuries in this skirmish, but no one has been seriously injured. He said that no Indian soldier was martyred in this incident, nor was anyone seriously injured.

Flag meeting between India and China

Rajnath Singh further said, ‘Due to the timely intervention of the Indian military commanders, the Chinese troops went back to their positions. After this incident, the local commander of the area held a flag meeting with his Chinese counterpart on 11 December 2022 under the established arrangement and discussed the incident. The Chinese side was denied such action and asked to maintain peace on the border. This issue has also been raised with the Chinese side at the diplomatic level.
