The wife of a policeman had stolen from the house of two constables in Police Line Ganeshara Colony. On Thursday, the Police Station Highway arrested the wife of the GRP constable from the colony itself and exposed the incident. At the instance of the woman, jewelry worth about Rs 22 lakh kept hidden inside the washing machine was also recovered. The accused woman has been sent to jail. This woman would first socialize with the people of the colony and then steal from their house.

In the year 2018, jewelry worth lakhs of rupees was stolen from the house of Anil Yadav, the gunner of MLA Shrikant Sharma, and constable Vinay Kumar, who was posted at Shri Krishna Janmabhoomi. The police had also put up a final report in the theft incident at Vinay Kumar’s place. Constable Anil Kumar Yadav had nominated the report of theft against the wife of a head constable in the highway police station. On investigation, it was found that the woman who was nominated had not committed the theft. Neetu Yadav, wife of constable Sanjeev posted in GRP, has committed the theft incident.

Police arrested Neetu Yadav. It was he who had stolen from both the soldiers. Station in-charge Chhote Lal said, ornaments were recovered on the woman’s point. The woman had hidden the jewelry in the washing machine by opening it. Among the recovered ornaments, the ornaments stolen from Vinay Kumar’s house were also found. Their cost is around 22 lakh rupees.

The station in-charge said, the accused woman is a relative of the victim constable Anil Yadav. Earlier, the accused woman used to visit the people of the colony after dealing with them. In the meantime, along with getting information about the valuables, she used to steal the key of the cupboard. She used to steal whenever she got a chance. SSI Surendra Singh Bhati, outpost in-charge Radhapuram Estate Manindra Kumar, female SI Mithlesh Upadhyay, constable Abhishek Kumar were included in the team that exposed the theft.
