CM Dhami participated in health employment generation program, handed over appointment letters to CHOs appointed in various districts

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated in Uttarakhand Health Employment Generation Program at Chief Minister’s residence, Dehradun on Friday. On the occasion, the Chief Minister presented appointment letters to the Community Health Officers (CHOs) appointed in various districts of Uttarakhand. On this occasion, appointment letters were given to 604 new Community Health Officers in 13 districts.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami congratulated all the newly appointed Community Health Officers (CHOs) present in the programme. He said that the role of health and wellness centers is very important for the better health of the general public, along with this, wellness centers work to provide health services at the village level. Health and wellness centers played an important role during the Corona pandemic. Community Health Officers are the strong pillars of these centres. He said that such programs are being conducted across the country under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The objective of these programs is to provide health services to remote areas. The Prime Minister has resolved to provide employment to 10 lakh youth every year. This program is a part of that resolution. At present, about 1790 health and wellness centers are functioning in Uttarakhand and now the state has got 604 new CHOs.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that today India is the 5th largest economy in the world. Under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the country is making rapid progress in every field. New works are being done in every field to fulfill the resolve to make India a ‘developed nation’. There has been more readiness in all the departments of the central and state government towards public works. The “Startup India” campaign has established the potential of the country’s youth in front of the whole world. Today more than 80,000 startups have been established in India. Many new employment opportunities are being generated in the country. Exports ranging from vehicles to metro coaches, train coaches, defense equipment, mobile phones etc. have increased. Exports are growing rapidly in all sectors. Today’s youth want to do the work themselves and also be the giver of the work. The state government is generating employment opportunities for the youth at the local level, “Home Stay” is a great example in this sector.

Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that this year about 19 lakh people came for check-up in health and wellness centers and free check-ups were done for 07 lakh people. 5 lakh people have been provided health consultation through tele-consultation facility. “Jan Arogya Abhiyan – One Step Towards Healthy Life” was also conducted by the State Government, which was also praised by the Government of India. About 3.50 lakh persons were registered by the CHO working under the campaign, who were checked for high blood pressure, diabetes, mouth and breast cancer, eye check-up, as well as treatment of people suffering from TB disease. The state government will make the state TB free by 2024. Expressing hope, he said that the newly appointed CHOs will successfully perform their services for the better health of the common people in the Health and Wellness Centers.

Health Minister Dr. Dhan Singh Rawat said that health facilities are being continuously upgraded in the state. The state government will provide jobs to 10 thousand people in the health sector by March 2023, in which 2900 posts of nursing staff, A.N.M. 850 posts, 339 posts of Assistant Professor in Medical Colleges, 376 posts of MBBS, N.H.M. Under this, along with the recruitment of 1600 people, more than 2000 vacant posts of technicians will be recruited in various medical units. He said that there are about 1800 Health and Wellness Centers in the State, in which 1200 Community Health Officers are posted while 604 CHOs have been given fresh posting today. Along with this, 100 percent deployment of CHOs has been done at all health and wellness centers of the state as per the norms of Government of India. All the CHOs will conduct medical tests of the local people in the wellness centers and will also make people aware of health by going from village to village. He told the newly appointed CHO to go to the villages to check the health of the general public by setting up a health chaupal and also to make the people coming to the wellness center aware about yoga.

On this occasion, Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama, Health Secretary Dr. R. Rajesh Kumar, Vice Chancellor of HNB Medical Education University Prof. Hem Chandra, senior officials of Health Department, District Magistrates of Almora, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh were present through virtual medium.
