Uttarakhand : On the complaint of Ankita’s father, the government removed the government advocate of Pauri

In the Ankita murder case, the advocate of the accused, Assistant District Government Advocate (Revenue) Amit Sajwan was removed by the government.
In the Ankita Bhandari murder case, the government removed Amit Sajwan, Assistant District Government Advocate (Revenue), who was representing the three accused. This action was taken after Ankita’s father wrote a letter to the CM.
Ankita’s father Virendra Bhandari had said in a letter sent to the CM that- In the court of Kotdwar Judicial Magistrate Bhavna Pandey, on behalf of the accused Pulkit, Ankit and Saurabh in the Ankita murder case, by Assistant District Government Advocate (Revenue) Amit Sajwan, appointed in the Kotdwar SDM Court. Advocacy is being done against Narco/Polygraph test of the accused by filing Vakalatnama. In the past, his own junior Jitendra Rawat, who is a remand advocate, had acted against the rules and justice by filing bail application of these accused. Therefore, make sure to take immediate disciplinary action on them.
Taking cognizance of this letter, Additional Secretary Justice RK Srivastava informed DM Pauri about the decision of the government and said that-
After due consideration by the government, it has been decided to call for a new panel for the said post, terminating the engagement of Mr. Amit Rajwan, Assistant District Government Advocate (Revenue), Kotdwar, District Pauri Garhwal with immediate effect.
