Uttarakhand: Chardham Yatra preparation start, proposal will be sent to the Center for help in health services – R Rajesh Kumar, Secretary Health
The Central Government is ready to provide financial assistance for better health facilities along the Char Dham Yatra routes. For this, the government has started the exercise of making DPR. The proposal will be sent to the Center within a week. The Center has assured all possible cooperation to the state government for health facilities on the Chardham Yatra routes. The government is expecting a special package from the central government for better health facilities by upgrading primary health centers along with setting up medical health camps on the pilgrimage routes of Kedarnath, Badrinath, Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham. About 350 pilgrims have died in the Chardham Yatra last year. Maximum of more than 150 deaths took place on the pedestrian route of Kedarnath Dham. Heart attack has been the cause of more than 80 percent of deaths. This time, along with the state government, the Center is also serious about health services in the Chardham Yatra.
Cardiac ambulance service, advance life support ambulance, ECG machine, portable oxygen cylinder and other health equipments on the travel routes, apart from other health equipment, Health Department prepares DPR for upgradation of Primary Health Center Barkot, Bhatwadi, Joshimath in Chamoli, Ukhimath in Rudraprayag in Uttarkashi district doing.
DPR is being prepared for better health facilities on Char Dham Yatra routes. The proposal will be sent to the Center within a week. Only after this, it is expected to get a special package from the central government.
