Uttar Pradesh: Gold, silver and copper coins found in foundation digging, goldsmith’s laborers sold them!

Gold, silver and copper coins have been found in digging the foundation of a house in Shamli district of Uttar Pradesh. According to the information, the laborer who had received these coins had sold them at a jewelery shop. Then fed the people of the village with this money. During this the word spread that the laborer had got the treasure from somewhere. As soon as this came to the notice of the police, the laborer was taken into custody and interrogated.

During interrogation, the police came to know that the laborer had received 8 gold, 26 silver and one copper coin. Which was sold to him in a jewelry shop. The police team reached the jeweler, arrested him, recovered the coins and handed them over to Shamli Tehsildar. Tehsildar has stopped the excavation on Delhi Saharanpur road and police has been deployed and also informed the Archaeological Survey Department. Looking at the texture of the coins and the writing on them, they seem to be ancient.

On Monday, Lekhpal Ashwani Kumar, Ankur Kumar and Meenakshi Devi from the Revenue Department reached the spot and inspected the area. During this, two niches were found inside the mythological well situated at some distance, in which something was written on a marble stone. After this, Maulana Abdullah, who lives in the mosque located in Mohalla Kassawan, explained the language written on the stone in the well in Farsi. According to the information, these coins are said to be more than 1000 years old. The coins are from the time of an Arab emperor named Yusuf bin Tashfeen. Who was also known as Amir ul Muslim. The Almoravid dynasty was an imperial Berber Muslim dynasty centered in Morocco. He established an empire in the 11th century. It extended to the western Maghreb and Al-Andalus.
