Opposition does not believe in election through EVM! Meeting held at Sharad Pawar’s house, opposition will go to EC, raised these questions regarding EVM

A meeting was held on Thursday at NCP chief Sharad Pawar’s house on the issue of election through Electronic Voting Machine (EVM). The parties involved in the meeting spread that their doubts about EVMs still persist. It has been decided in the meeting that the opposition parties together will once again knock on the door of the Election Commission (EC). Mamta Banerjee’s party Trinamool Congress (TMC) did not participate in this meeting. Digvijay Singh (Congress), Praful Patel (NCP), D Raja (CPI), Ram Gopal Yadav (SP), Anil Desai (Shiv Sena), K Keshav Rao (BRS), in the meeting held at Nationalist Congress Party chief Sharad Pawar’s house. Alamram Karim (CPI M), Kapil Sibal JDU as well as representatives of AAP and IUML also attended.

Pawar had sent invitations to all parties

Let us tell you that before the upcoming Lok Sabha elections in 2024, the opposition has started raising the slogan of disturbances in EVMs. For this, Sharad Pawar had written a letter and sent invitations to all the parties. In a letter to the parties, Pawar had said that the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) needed to be accurate in the interest of free and fair elections. Any doubt on its efficacy should be dispelled by the Chief Election Commissioner.

Will have to come together for fair elections: Pawar

Pawar wrote in the letter that experts say that any machine with a chip can be hacked and we cannot allow democracy to be hijacked by unscrupulous elements. Therefore, in the interest of free and fair elections, let us sit together and listen to the views expressed by eminent IT professionals and cryptographers.
