Delhi: Due to girlfriends, they used to abscond by snatching mobiles, police arrested the snatchers

The Crime Branch of Delhi Police has arrested two such vicious snatchers, who used to run away by saying Tata bye-bye to people after snatching their phones. The arrested miscreants used to carry out the incidents to have fun with their girlfriends and to give them expensive gifts. According to the police, the accused along with their accomplices have so far snatched more than 200 phones. All the mobile accused in the incident used to sell San to Ram Bahadur, a dealer living in Nepal. The police is now on the lookout for the dealer. To execute the crime, the accused used to first steal a two-wheeler and then pounce on it. After some time, they used to abscond leaving the stolen vehicles. Eight stolen two-wheelers and 11 mobile phones snatched from passers-by have been recovered from the accused.

The accused include Azim Ahmed and Farhan, residents of Zakir Nagar. Crime Branch’s Special CP Ravindra Singh Yadav said that the accused were arrested by the team on a tip-off. With their arrest, the police have solved eight vehicle theft and eight other cases. Special CP said that in view of the incidents of snatching on the roads, a team has been deployed. The police team scanned the CCTV footage around the crime scene and identified the accused as Azim and Farhan, residents of Zakir Nagar.

After this, the police caught both of them from Jamia Nagar area by laying a trap. The bike recovered from the accused was found stolen. Seven more two-wheelers and 11 phones have been recovered at their instance. During interrogation, the accused disclosed that they were carrying out the snatching incident since 2022. Used to have fun with girlfriends and give them expensive gifts. The accused used to leave a stolen vehicle anywhere after committing about 20-25 incidents.
