Uttarakhand: Opposition vocal after revelations in RTI, Dehradun Mayor’s property increased 10 times, Mahara demanded investigation from CM Dhami

The politics of the state is hot because of ten times increase in the property of Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama. The Congress alleges that the mayor has amassed disproportionate assets. Congress state president Karan Mahara held a press conference regarding this. During this, Mahara lashed out at Sunil Uniyal for the huge increase in the mayor’s property.

Congress sought clarification from Gama

Karan Mahara said that disproportionate assets of Dehradun Mayor Gama have been revealed in RTI. In such a situation, the mayor should give an explanation in front of the public. Mahara said that the RTI activist has made serious allegations against Sunil Gama that, before becoming the mayor, how much wealth he had shown and after four and a half years of becoming the mayor, his wealth on paper has increased ten times.

Congress will complain about Gama to CM Dhami

Karan Mahara said that this becomes a case of corruption and disproportionate assets. In such a situation, the government should take cognizance of it. Mahara said that a letter is also being written to the Chief Minister in this regard through him. Taking cognizance of this matter, action will be demanded from the Chief Minister in the letter. He said that until the investigation is completed, Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama should resign from his post.

Dehradun mayor’s assets revealed through RTI

Let us tell you that the Congress is raising questions on the tenfold increase in the property of Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama. It is noteworthy that RTI activist Vikesh Singh had recently made several revelations regarding the Dehradun Mayor while giving a press conference. He also accused the mayor of abusing his position and amassing disproportionate assets. Significantly, it has been revealed in the RTI that after becoming the mayor, Gama bought 11 properties for 5 crores, whose current market value is said to be around 20 crores.

RTI activist complained to Vigilance

He has also complained to Vigilance in this regard. In such a situation, the Congress has also asked the Chief Minister to write a letter in this regard. Karan Mahara has said that the Congress will demand an inquiry into the matter from the Chief Minister. Along with this, the Congress has also demanded the resignation of Mayor Sunil Uniyal Gama till the completion of the investigation.
