Not Atiq and Ashraf, the rule of law has been murdered!

Former MP, five-time MLA and gangster Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf were killed yesterday on their way to the hospital in Prayagraj. The circumstances and sequence of events suggest that this is purely cold headed and well thought out strategy. In which there is a smell of nexus between the police and the killers. The incident of the occasion makes the whole matter even more clear. It is being told that Atiq and his brother were being taken to the hospital by more than two dozen policemen. Just about to reach the gate of the hospital, Atiq was surrounded by media persons. The first question that arises is why were these media persons allowed to come near Atiq?

Prior to this, media persons were never given such an opportunity during their journeys from Ahmedabad to UP. This thing has to be told because it is being said that the killers had come posing as media persons. The picture of the live murder that has surfaced exposes the whole matter. Ateeq was just about to say something in front of the media that he was shot in the head and he fell, then the sound of another gun shot rang out and Ashraf too collapsed. But in the meantime, the accompanying policemen neither take out their guns nor put their hands on the pistol mount. They start tracking down the killers involved in the incident. Along with this, instead of tying both of them in separate handcuffs, it was guaranteed that there would be no possibility of escape of the other when one was shot and the killing of both could be ensured.

On such an occasion when the person in front is firing and an encounter is actually happening, then what is the role of the police? Then for what day has he taken the weapons with him? His first responsibility was to protect his prisoners in custody. It was in a way an attack on the police and its entire security system. But the policemen did not retaliate. Usually on such occasions the injured are immediately sent to the hospital. That is so that if there is any last chance of survival, it can be used. But here the policemen did not even bother to take both the injured to the hospital at the front gate and left the media persons for about 20 minutes to do photo shoots considering them dead. And then after that the entire area was cordoned off.

The names of the arrested killers are Lavlesh Tiwari, Sunny and Arun Maurya. One thing is clearly visible in this whole incident that the policemen were in no danger of losing their lives. And if this was not the case, they would have been forced to use their guns even against their will. But since things seem to have been pre-ordained, there was no possibility of any such danger. And there is no doubt that the decision has been taken at the highest level. That too is more political than administrative. In this way three family members of Atiq including son Asad were killed within a week.

But this incident has proved that justice, courts, police and order have no meaning now. It shows that the system of the country is no longer able to run by the rule of law. That’s why he himself has to take such decisions. This is a kind of self-acceptance of the state. But its dangers are huge. Today those who are rejoicing over Atiq’s death should understand that tomorrow this same way will be used against any of their relatives or acquaintances who will be completely innocent but hindering the interests of the ruling party or any person associated with it. Must be proving On such occasions, he will use the state machinery and get the desired results.

It is not that Atiq did not express his apprehension. He had knocked on the doors of the Supreme Court. But the Supreme Court had said that there was no need to give separate directions for the safety of his life and property as the petitioner was already in police custody and he was completely safe. Perhaps the Supreme Court forgot that it was the same party and its leader Kalyan Singh who took an oath in front of this very court not to cause any damage to the Babri Masjid and when the opportunity came, he backed down and not only the security forces Instead of stopping Babri Masjid from taking action, he allowed the Babri Masjid to become a martyr. But perhaps the courts have also limited their role now. They are also beginning to feel their end. Or are they also looking at their role of working in harmony with the state in their own way.

This murder has declared the end of the rule of law. And the message of leaving everything to the mob and hysteria is clear. It is not without reason that the country’s fastest channel was conducting a nationwide opinion poll on Atiq’s murder. And was openly asking that how many people are in favor of Atiq’s encounter and how many are against it? The whole country saw the desire shown by channels like him to show live encounter during his journey from Ahmedabad to UP.

However, later the Yogi government fulfilled his wish when the entire incident of Prayagraj took place in front of the media and in front of his eyes. This whole incident has shown that far from being a democratic country, we could not even become a civilized society. And the country which celebrates someone’s death, its society can only be given the status of a barbaric or tribal society. Because this is possible only in a jungle raj and not in a modern, civilized and democratic society.

However, this was announced by the Chief Minister of the state Yogi Adityanath long ago when he said that he will mix everything in the soil. Today Yogi Baba is announcing to do this on the strength of the same state which he has. But he should not forget that the use of this same power by the opposition power had once forced him to cry bitterly in the highest panchayat of the country.

And then that picture and its video are still present on social media when the then Speaker Somnath Chatterjee is seen consoling him and asking him to stand by him in every way and investigate the matter. That’s why any kind of state power and machinery cannot be justified, which works at the behest of political power without following the law and the constitution. Such extremism from time to time goes against some influential people and against the public in general. And the result of this comes in the continuous distance of justice from the public.
