Truth and Reality

Occupancy of religious structures in government land

Under Modi rule, a large part of the mainstream media has started being called Godi media, so there is no rhyme behind this. For the first time in independent India, the media has started praising the government on such a large scale. Newspapers were censored during the Emergency. It was his compulsion to publish government news. Electronic media was in its infancy and digital media was not even being imagined. Even then he would find ways to express his views. Many times he used to register his protest by leaving his editorial space vacant. The government is using BBC to expose lies. It used to happen. Today the situation is clearly not the same. But the mainstream media has voluntarily restrained itself. He publishes and broadcasts news received directly from the Prime Minister’s Office. The Prime Minister’s public programs were broadcasted on TV. It is shown on channels as if a cricket match is being watched live. Some still remain in English newspapers. Hindi is in bad condition. Government news is not reviewed, nor is its authenticity investigated. On the contrary, lies are spread without thinking. Only a part of digital media is doing its work responsibly. See an example. The so-called Mazaar Jihad campaign has started in Uttarakhand. Chief Minister Dhami has fanned this controversy and the media is spreading it without thinking. Only ‘News Laundry’ has quoted the survey of the Forest Department of Uttarakhand and said that there are 155 illegal encroachments in the form of religious structures in 10 divisions of the Forest Department and all of them are temples. Among the 127 possessions done in four circles, there are 115 temples, 10 tombs and 2 Gurudwaras. There are 53 illegal temples and 28 tombs in Rajaji and Jim Corbett National Parks. Why is Godi media not bringing out this truth?
