Fans are unable to digest KL Rahul’s statement after Lucknow’s defeat, know what the captain said on the shameful defeat

After losing the winning game against Gujarat Titans, Lucknow Super Giants captain Lokesh Rahul said that such things keep happening in cricket. Chasing 136 to win, Lucknow needed 35 off the last 36 balls and the team failed to achieve it even with Rahul’s presence at the crease.

Gujarat’s bowlers did not allow their batsmen to play freely by bowling tightly. Rahul had completed his half- century in 33 balls but after that he scored 18 runs in 28 balls, leaving the team needing 12 runs in the last over. In this over of Mohit Sharma, Lucknow lost four wickets including Rahul in which two batsmen were run out.

“I don’t know how it happened, but it happened. I can’t say where the mistake happened, but we lost two points today, that’s cricket,” Rahul said at the post- match award ceremony.

“We started well with the bat, but such things happen, we have to take responsibility for it,” he said. Rahul, however, felt the batsmen should have taken a few more chances as they had wickets in hand. “We were very much ahead in the game and I really didn’t want to take the match till the last over. I still wanted to play my shots but their bowlers bowled well,” the skipper said.

Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya said that this such a win will boost the confidence of the team. They said, After losing two matches in a row, it feels like God telling us that I will always not disappoint you, will also give you chances to be happy.

“The atmosphere changed after his wicket fell. Our team had amazing confidence. In a tournament like this, a loss can break you, but a win like this gives you confidence,” he added.
