Orissa / Sambalpur: Had come to get married, reached police station on complaint of girlfriend, groom had committed infidelity
Police arrested a groom who had come to get married with gajebaje and baraatis and tried to marry another girl by being unfaithful to his old girlfriend. Bhubaneswar Mahila Thana police arrested groom Ajit Kumar Bhoi from Beherapali under Bhatli police station of Bargarh district on Monday night and took him to Bhubaneswar and sent him to judicial custody on Tuesday.
Police arrested before reaching marriage hall
According to the information received, Ajit Kumar Bhoi of Pani Gengutia village under Parjang police station of Dhenkanal district in Odisha is a junior engineer and is working in the Odisha State Road Transport Corporation (OSRTC) in the capital Bhubaneswar. His marriage was fixed at Beherapali village under Bargarh district Bhatli police station and on the date fixed for the marriage he came to marry with the baraatis and the police arrested him before reaching the marriage hall.
Had gone to get married by tricking his girlfriend
It is alleged that junior engineer Ajit Kumar Bhoi had gone to Bhubaneswar to marry another girl after maintaining a physical relationship with her for the last two years on the pretext of marrying her. Sensing the intention of lover Ajit, the girlfriend had filed a report against him in Bhubaneswar Women’s Police Station and taking action on this report, Sub-Inspector Shubhashree Nayak of Women’s Police Station reached Bargarh on Monday.
Gold ornaments given to the groom returned to the bride’s side
After this, following the instructions of Bargarh District Superintendent of Police Prahlad Meena, Bhatli Sub-Inspector Padmavati Mirdha etc together arrested the accused lover Ajit before reaching the marriage hall. During this, the gold chain, ring and wrist watch etc. given by the bride’s side during fomentation of the groom’s cheeks were seized and returned to the bride’s side.
