Uttarakhand / Dehradun: Three people arrested for betting in IPL matches, have done betting of two crores in this season

Nehru Colony Police has arrested three people while busting betting in IPL matches. When the police raided, the three accused were betting while watching the match on mobile. Police recovered dozens of ATM cards, cash, registers and other material from the spot. The accused have done betting of two crores so far in this season of IPL.

SP City Sarita Dobal said that DIG, SSP had received information about betting in a house located in Saraswati Vihar D Block. On this, the joint team of Police Station Nehru Colony and SOG under the leadership of CO Dalanwala Abhinav Chaudhary raided. Three people were found here, who were betting on the match by contacting other people through different mobiles while watching the match on mobile.

Along with this, its accounts were being recorded in the register. The police team arrested all the three accused. The accused were identified as Yogesh Kumar, resident of New D Block Saraswati Vihar Nehru Colony, Nitin and Bablu, resident of Kasba Jansath Muzaffarnagar. The police produced the accused in the court, from where they were sent to jail.

Used to take line from online betting site
According to Nehru Colony police station in-charge Lokendra Bahuguna, during interrogation, the accused told that they used to take lines from the online betting site at the rate of Rs 2000 per month. Transaction through UPI
The accused used to do transactions through UPI. The bettor had to predict how many runs would be scored in overs 6, 10, 15 and 20. If the guess turned out to be correct, double the amount invested was returned.

Used to bet 6 to 7 lakhs in every match
The accused get betting of about six to seven lakh rupees in each match. The accused told during interrogation that they have got betting worth about two crore rupees so far in this season of IPL. They get money from people of Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, Dehradun and other places. To avoid the police, he does not stay at any one place for long.
