Suraj Pancholi acquitted in Jiah Khan death case

Sooraj Pancholi acquitted due to lack of evidence

Now on Friday, April 28, Judge AS Sayyed of the special CBI court in Mumbai acquitted Sooraj Pancholi, saying that due to lack of evidence, this court cannot convict you (Sooraj Pancholi). Therefore you are acquitted.

After Jiah Khan’s death, her mother Rabia Khan alleged that Sooraj Pancholi and his family ill-treated her daughter. He accuses Sooraj of forcing Jia to have an abortion. She called Suraj the main culprit of her daughter’s death and also accused him of killing her daughter. However, Sooraj and his star parents Zarina Wahab and Aditya Pancholi maintained that their son was not responsible for Jiah’s death.

Sooraj’s mother Zarina is in shock before the verdict comes. “We have waited for 10 years for the verdict. It has been hell for our son. All this while, we believe that justice will be done for our son. When my daughter looks at me, I feel her pain. I can’t look into his eyes. I can feel what he has gone through. I feel helpless. I know that my son is innocent. It has taken 10 years, but I have full faith in the above. It is late in his house, but not dark. I am sure he will be proved innocent.

Jia was only 18 years old when she got a chance to work with Amitabh Bachchan in ‘Nishabd’. The movie may have flopped at the box office, but the actress garnered a lot of limelight. At the same time, Sooraj had not made his Bollywood debut then. He was just a starkid and was struggling to get work. If reports are to be believed, Jia had met Sooraj through Facebook and an affair started between the two.

Jiah was found dead on 3 June 2013 at her Juhu home. In his alleged suicide letter, it was said that Sooraj was cheating on him. The case was later handed over to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Now all eyes are on the verdict.
