Lord Jagannath fell ill after water bath, devotees will not be able to see for 15 days, Ayurveda will be treated

Mathura and Vrindavan are the places of Lord Krishna. There are many such temples here, which are recognized all over the world. One such temple is of Lord Jagannath. This temple is built on the Jagannath Ghat located on the banks of the Yamuna in Vrindavan. It is known as Jagannath Temple. This temple has a unique belief. Here Lord Jagannath falls ill after the full moon date of Jyeshtha month. After this, the doors of the temple are closed for about 15 days and the deity is kept in seclusion and treated with special medicines. Let us tell you about this.

God became ill after bath

On the full moon day, apart from the water of the holy rivers of the country, the Lord was anointed with water mixed with herbs and fruit juice. This abhishek lasted for about an hour. Lord Jagannath got fever because of this bath. With the Lord falling ill, the doors of the temple have also been closed. Now for about 15 days special treatment will be given to God. This treatment will be done through Ayurveda method.

The doors will open on June 20

As long as the treatment of God continues, God is kept in seclusion. In the meanwhile the devotees do not see him. Special care is also taken of their food. Meanwhile, rice is not offered to God. After 15 days, when God becomes completely healthy, then God is shown the cow and after that the doors of the temple are opened for the devotees. With the sunrise on June 20, the doors of the temple will be opened for the devotees. In the evening, sitting in different chariots, Lord Jagannath, along with brother Balarama and sister Subhadra will go on a chariot journey.

Belief behind being sick

There is a special belief behind Lord Jagannath falling ill every year. According to ancient stories, Madhav Das, the supreme devotee of God in Jagannath Dham of Odisha, got sick and became so weak that it became difficult for him to get up, sit and walk. But still he did not stop serving God. After this Lord Jagannath himself reached the house of his devotee Madhav Das. At that time Madhav Das was in sleep. God silently started serving him.

When Madhav Das woke up with the touch of God, he recognized him and said, “Lord, you are serving me, whereas if you wanted, you could have cured my disease.” After this God said that whatever has to happen will happen. But you still have 15 days of suffering due to this disease. Give it to me. After this the Lord took away the disease of his devotee. Since then every year God falls ill for 15 days. After being completely healthy, his Rath Yatra is taken out.
