Gujarat High Court shocks Rahul Gandhi in Modi surname case, will not be able to contest 2024 elections, know what the court said?

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has got a big blow from the Gujarat High Court in the defamation case related to Modi surname. The court has rejected the reconsideration petition of Rahul Gandhi. The Gujarat High Court says that the trial court’s order of conviction is proper, there is no need to interfere with the said order, hence the application is dismissed. The court further said that there are at least 10 criminal cases pending against Rahul Gandhi. After this decision of the High Court, Rahul Gandhi will no longer be able to contest the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, nor will he be able to seek revocation of the suspension of his status as a Member of Parliament (MP). He can appeal to the Supreme Court against the order of the High Court. Rahul’s Lok Sabha membership has already gone. The High Court, while hearing Rahul Gandhi’s petition earlier, refused to grant any interim relief and said it would pass a final order after the summer vacation.

On 22 April, Rahul Gandhi vacated the bungalow. Rahul Gandhi filed a petition in the Gujarat High Court against the decision of the Surat Sessions Court, but did not get relief. After this, an appeal was made to the High Court to reconsider its decision.
