Punjab: BJP leader raped a girl in Ambala, had contested assembly elections in 2019 on Aam Aadmi Party ticket
BJP leader Anshul Aggarwal was arrested on Thursday on rape charges in Haryana’s Ambala district. It is alleged that the girl was aborted twice when she became pregnant after the rape. Anshul Aggarwal has contested the assembly elections in 2019 on Aam Aadmi Party ticket. However, he later joined BJP. The police have also registered a case against the doctor who performed the abortion on the girl. On Thursday, the police arrested the accused BJP leader and sent him to Ambala Central Jail.
In the complaint submitted to the police, the victim had alleged that she had met the leader on April 3, 2021. At that time he was looking for a job. The accused had issued an advertisement in OLX, in which it was said that girls were needed to do office work. She had gone to Anshul Aggarwal’s office for an interview. Anshul had hired him for billing. The girl alleges that she had only been working for 10 days when Anshul Aggarwal proposed friendship to her, although she rejected it at first, but the accused kept proposing her again and again.
Raped after being called to hotel on the pretext of work
The girl alleges that she was called to the hotel on the pretext of work. The accused forcibly had physical relations in the hotel. When the girl started crying, the accused assured of marriage. Not only this, the accused also filled vermilion in her demand. After this the accused continuously had physical relations with her. According to the victim, she became pregnant in 2021. Anshul got her abortion done by Dr. Vinod near his office. The girl alleges that she had an abortion for the second time on March 8, 2022.
Anshul Aggarwal had contested the Assembly elections 2019 from Ambala City on Aam Aadmi Party seat, in which Anshul got only 868 votes. After this, he joined BJP in the presence of local MLA Aseem Goyal. Mahila police station in-charge Surindra Kaur said that the accused has been arrested and sent to jail. The woman has been accused of rape and forced abortion. In this matter, a case under section 120B has also been registered against Dr Vinod.
