Uttarakhand: Eco parks will be developed around Chardham Yatra route, local people will get employment
About 70 percent of the state of Uttarakhand is forest area. In such a situation, there is immense potential for developing eco parks in the state of Uttarakhand. In view of this, Chief Secretary Dr. SS Sandhu held a meeting with the District Magistrate and DFO through video conferencing. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary said that most of the state is forest area. In such a situation, these forest areas can play an important role in the economy of the state. Keeping ecology in mind, local people can also be given employment by preparing eco park.
During the meeting, the Chief Secretary also took information about the proposals of the districts from the district officials. He also said that more tourists are coming to all the tourist places of the state than their capacity. In such a situation, the beautiful places around the tourist places can be developed in the form of eco-tourism, so that tourists can take advantage of eco-tourism. Due to which there will be no excessive crowding in the existing tourist places. Apart from this, employment will also be available to the local people around the new tourist destinations.
The Chief Secretary directed the officials to develop as many eco parks as possible around the Chardham Yatra routes. But in developing Eco Park, minimum concrete and steel should be used and maximum wood and bamboo should be used. Apart from this, Udham Singh Nagar is the main gate of Kumaon region. Therefore, there are many water bodies around Udham Singh Nagar, which can be developed and linked to the economy. Apart from this, instructions were given to the officers that all the work should be completed on time and a time limit should also be set for this.
